Our Newborn Essentials
Per our pediatricians recommendation, we give these probiotic drops in Shep’s bottle every morning. We definitely notice it keeps him regular and reduces gas! We ran out once and I won’t ever let that happen again!
This bouncer is a must. Shep is so happy in it, he’s entertained and safe and it allows me to go about my business! Shower, go to the bathroom, you know, the basics.
We are loving this teether, this teether and this rattle/teether hybrid the most. He is not teething yet but he loves to put in this mouth and suck and explore! They are easy for him to hang onto.
In my opinion, this carrier is worth the price tag! I tried the baby bjorn but Shep did not like it as much and it hurt my back. We did use this wrap when he was really little. Probably for the first month! I loved it. Worth getting one!
We used the snuggle me lounger up until recently, when Shep started rolling! It’s essentially a holding place for your little one. He would nap in this (supervised!) when he was really little too.
You guys. The tushy spatula is a must. For applying aquaphor or diaper cream so it’s not all over your hands.
Another must is the tubby todd all over ointment! We are only halfway through the first tub but I’m so glad we have a backup. We use this on his face throughout the day to create a barrier between the milk and the drool so his skin doesn’t get too irritated and always on his face after his bath! We also like their fragrance free lotion and hair and body wash.
This is the bath we use! This was the third bath we tried. I couldn’t find one I felt comfortable with until this one. He stays put and it will grow with him!
Those early newborns days can be very gassy! We wouldn’t have survived without gripe water. We would also give the nighttime version before bed each night.
Shep made it clear to us very early on that he did want to be swaddled with his hands down, so we used this arms up swaddle and he loved it! He now sleeps in this sleep sack but I have heard the amazon version is just as good. Just ordered one to try!
The play mat we all have but for good reason, it’s the best. Add these hanging rattles for endless entertainment. Do I need the toy subscription too?
The cleaning wipes we use on and around Shep’s stuff!
The only bibs and burp cloths we use. Don’t overthink it! These are all you need.
We use the boppi pillow all the time! Was great for assisted tummy time and feeding when Shep was little and now he likes to lounge in it!
Our favorite tummy time toys so far: this and this.
Hands down our favorite pajamas! 2 pairs for $15 too. You want the modal blend! We just keep getting them in bigger sizes. They’re so soft and stretchy so easy to get on and off. I am going to be really sad when he outgrows the 6-9 months because it seems like that is the biggest size? C’mon target!
We are on the tail end of a major heat wave in LA and this fan has absolutely saved us.
I love our doona! Makes getting in and out of the car so easy plus it will function as our stroller and car seat when we travel until he outgrows it!
We are a coterie diaper house! No leaks ever.
The pillow we use on Shep’s changing table is nowhere to be found but this one looks similar! When he was little we would also use it while he played on his play mat. It prevents flat head and also gives them a little lift if they’re prone to spitting up. It also looks so comfortable!
I can’t forget our beautiful watercolor monthly milestone cards we use for Shep’s monthly photoshoot! My best friends company that she started during her maternity leave. She also makes pregnancy growth cards which were so fun to have on the counter during our countdown to baby.
Other items I should mention:
Plus a full list to all of our newborn essentials HERE.
Maybe the most helpful newborn essential, our sleep consultant! Jamie is the best. Don’t be afraid to ask for help, mamas.
Plus the designer we worked with on our nursery! She specializes in baby and children’s spaces and is the chicest person ever.
Read it, pass it along to a friend, it takes a village and this is our village right here! If you have any questions at all, feel free to leave a comment and I will get back to you ASAP.
Until next time!
So many lovely recommendations … +1 in the family so the softest baby bodies. I would also recommend new brand chachi for lovely colourful onesies by a small mum run business.
Another alternative is renting www.orcollective.co.uk have so many of the best brands out there and you get unlimited rotations for a set monthly fee 🙌 would have loved this as a gift instead of being given clothes!
Hi Mally! Do you have a link to the other little step stool in the picture?
